Dr. Lorène Catala Boisvert is a biological and biomimetic dentist with more than 20 years of experience, and the founder of BioSmile Center in Santa Monica, serving the greater Los Angeles area. She believes beautiful dentistry should also be conservative, long-lasting, and good for your overall health.
A graduate of the Nantes School of Dentistry in France (with honors in 2000), Dr. Boisvert began her career with a passion for smile aesthetics and pursued advanced training in restorative and cosmetic dentistry. Her search for a more complete approach to patient care brought her to California, where she turned to biological, biomimetic, and functional dentistry.
Today, her work blends artistry with function. She designs natural-looking smiles that feel like they belong to the person. Each treatment also considers how the tooth restoration fits into the bite, the airway, and the body as a whole.
Whenever possible, she preserves healthy tooth structure. She uses biocompatible materials and minimally invasive techniques. She also offers safe mercury amalgam removal with the SMART protocol, as well as Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) and Fotona laser therapy when they benefit her patients.
Dr. Boisvert is certified by the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT) and the International Academy of Biological Dentistry and Medicine (IABDM), and she completed the UCLA Implant Continuum for implant surgery and prosthetics. She is part of the inaugural cohort of the Institute for Functional Dentistry, and she continues to study the oral microbiome, sleep medicine, pain management, and integrative health.
Fluent in English and French, with a deep knowledge of German and Spanish, Dr. Boisvert takes the time to understand what matters to each patient and tailors every treatment plan to their health, expectations, and aesthetic goals.
